Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Can I request an installation through Eris?
Yes. By contacting us via email, phone or the contact us page on our website, you can make a request for us to arrange an amenity upgrade to your apartment block. Depending on the service you require, we may require information regarding your building or the land surrounding it.
If your property is owned by one of our freehold clients, we will liaise with the relevant service providers to kickstart the process. If your property isn't owned by one of our existing freehold clients, we may still be able to help, however, there might be some more investigating than usual to make sure everything is above board.
How much will an installation cost?
All Eris initial installs (both fibre and other) do not incur any costs to freeholders, leaseholders, property management companies or residents. This includes making good after works are complete and carrying out any necessary maintenance works.
Residents who wish to have an EV charger installed in their designated parking space will pay a fee for the charge point and usage.
What permissions are needed to allow an install?
Eris gains approval from the freeholder, property manager and stakeholders, such as Resident Management Companies (RMCs) and ties up all the necessary paperwork.
This includes a signed wayleave agreement to allow works to proceed, as well as post-build reports, upon completion of works, detailing compliance with fire-stopping regulations where applicable.

Fibre Optic Services
What if I already have fibre in my building?
If you already have full fibre in your building - not to worry! Any new installations will have zero effect on the services already available within your apartment block; they will only offer a wider range of options so that you can find the service that best works for you.
However, many homes across the UK still only have a copper connection, meaning the fibre cables only go as far as your nearest street cabinet. The final part of the connection uses the copper wires from the old telephone network which is now over 100 years old.
Eris works alongside multiple internet service providers (ISPs) to provide full fibre to the premises. With these installs the equipment is installed within the communal areas in a discreet manner to ensure the highest speeds right to your front door. Our ISPs offer speeds up to and over 1000Mbps (1 Gbps) and a wide range of price points to suit any budget.
How long will the fibre upgrade take?
Parcel Lockers
What are the benefits to having a parcel locker installed?
The installation of the locker will enable individuals to conveniently receive and return packages. With approximately 14.4 million items of post lost every year in the UK, utilising a locker will effectively reduce the risk of parcel theft or mis-delivery. Users have the option to have their online orders delivered to the locker or to utilise it for making returns. Various courier services currently have the ability to deliver to lockers.
Where will the locker be installed?
Prior to installing the locker, the site is surveyed both virtually and physically to confirm possible locations for the unit. There are strict guidelines which must be followed to ensure the locker is installed with the residents in mind. The locker will never be placed where windows or entrances could be obstructed.
How big will the locker be?
The lockers vary in size from as small as 2m long to a larger 8m unit. The size chosen for each development will vary depending on several factors, including (but not limited to) location, resident count and the amount of space available.
Electric Vehicle Charging
Are there any benefits to allowing an EV charger to be installed, even if our residents don't have electric cars?
The number of electric cars on UK roads is increasing year by year. If a leaseholder doesn't own an electric vehicle now, he or she may be considering one next time they change vehicles. In fact, the government has put plans in place to ensure that 100% of new vehicles sold will be electric by 2035. This inevitably means that the demand for good quality EV charging points will also continue to increase.
Having an EV-ready development will not only allow residents to access the facilities immediately, but it has also been proven to increase property value.
Installing a charger can incur high costs depending on whether the unit alone is purchased or the unit is also fitted. Installs via Eris incur zero costs to landlords or property managers, with residents only paying fees if they are users of the service.
Can I get an EV charger installed for my personal parking space?
Yes. Once the infrastructure has been installed, residents can place orders for an EV charge point to be installed on their designated parking space.
Is there a minimum number of chargers required for installation?
No. Once the wayleave is signed, the infrastructure will be installed. Individual chargers are then installed as and when requested by residents. Additional chargers can be installed at any time, whether it's a month, a year, or a decade after the initial installation.
How long will the EV charger installation take?
Once the wayleave agreement has been signed, installation of the infrastructure can take anywhere between 2 and 4 weeks. Installation of an individual unit will usually take between 1 and 2 days.
